The writers, producers and staff of "MotorWeek" evaluated 150 vehicles, looking at performance, technology, practicality and dollar value. The winners represent what "MotorWeek" considers to be the best in each class. "MotorWeek" is one of the nation's leading sources for automotive industry news, new car information and driving entertainment. The awards result from back-to-back driving evaluations of over 60 new vehicles at the recent AJAC Test Fest evaluation — the foundation of the "Canadian Car of the Year" Awards program. Over 70 of Canada's top automotive journalists judged this year's competition, which aims to provide consumers with sound, comparative information on new vehicles.
